Brandt likes to entertain, hoping to lighten the mood or amuse himself when he can. He wears his heart as far from his sleeve as possible, preferring to apply the 'fake it till you make it' philosophy to all areas of his life. He's fast friends with people, even if it takes a little more time to a really deep connection with him.

His love of treasure has yet to be abated, but once a prize is won he almost immediately loses interest in it, preferring the journey to the destination in most things. Still doesn't like baby Pokemon.

Brandt's done a lot since leaving home on his Pokemon journey, never quite finding a niche that fit for him. Raised in the treetop houses of Fortree City, Brandt has a penchant for climbing and exploring, and his original journey featured numerous pitstops that impeded his progress as a 'real trainer'. He's acted in Unova, hunted lost treasures, been a shepherd in Solaceon, trained extensively at Cyllage gym, and interned at the Looker Buraeu, all to varying degrees of success.

Following an expedition into Duskull Island, Brandt found himself on the crew for a television show with his friends from previous adventures. Trekking across Alola was a much needed break, but it wasn't a vacation by any stretch, and Brandt has picked up some new tricks for slacking off under Ellie's watchful eye.

His experiences with private tournaments is something of a sore spot for him, fighting a guerrilla war against a ghost army in his latest outing. He's trying his best to keep optimistic on what could be waiting at the Shrine of Life.

After some counseling Brandt and Crusoe are thick as thieves once again, working hand in hand towards whatever goal they inevitably share. Crusoe has a pettiness about him that can make him a little bit brusque at first meeting, but given time he’ll warm up to just about anyone.

Hardwigg is clever and energetic, captured in a prehistoric ecosystem hidden deep within the Sinnoh Underground as an Anorith. She's proved a loyal friend to Brandt over the years, though she's very prickly with both strangers and Jumper, who takes it very personally that there is a Pokemon he can't seem to befriend.
